At first, I thought I was just going to talk to Chris Miller, Ben & Jerry’s Social Mission Activism Manager, about how climate change is impacting my favorite ice cream flavors. And he did tell me all about the threats to coffee, chocolate, and vanilla. But as our conversation continued, I realized that Ben & Jerry’s approach to climate change is much broader than these specific ingredients. They are also thinking about things like sustainable dairy farms, more efficient trucks, and less polluting freezers.
Of course, they can’t make these big changes all alone, so a key part of their sustainability strategy is engaging with consumers, other businesses and the government. This type of collaboration, Chris says, is key to solving the climate crisis.
