I grew up on a farm, but I actively avoided learning how to do any “farm stuff.” Gardening, canning, mending and repairing seemed like useless skills, unnecessary for the modern world. Now, of course, I know better and I wish I’d learned a little more of what my grandmother could have taught me.
This episode is all about homesteading, and the movement to re-learn those basic skills of taking care of ourselves and our needs. I talk to Melody Figge about her homesteading business, and how making your own stuff is a way to both prevent and prepare for climate change.
